I am a Northern California artist recognized for my serene interpretation of the local landscape, its rural structures and vineyards, and the working ranchland that rolls west to meet the Pacific Ocean. I have a keen appreciation of California due to a childhood spent enduring the bleak winters of a Canadian mining town. I have studied art in Toronto and in London, and studied with Clark Mitchell, one of America's foremost pastel artists. My work has appeared in galleries and juried exhibitions in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is held in private collections around the United States, Canada and Europe. I work with soft pastels, oils and acrylics. I am a resident artist at Healdsburg Center for the Arts in Healdsburg in Sonoma County. My web site is www.joycepower.com.
